Hey guys,
We know this past week was a busy week, and we’d like to applaud you on your hard work. The plays are coming along wonderfully.
Casco Library – We had a great time at the Casco Library, not to mention an amazing turn-out. Not only is Midsummer developing more and more, but it was Romeo and Juliet’s first performance, and the audience was taken by both of them. Now, from here, we start tightening, playing and tweaking our shows.

Auburn Library – This was one of your best shows of Midsummer Night’s Dream yet! Not to mention you guys used the audience wonderfully, and the results were hysterical. You definitely should remember and learn from the interaction work you did, and keep finding new ways to incorporate the audience.

Ricker Library – This performance was beautifully done, guys. Although there were a couple quirks (I know we still need the poison) you did a very good job making it smooth and seamless. We got many compliments about you from this show.

I know we’re starting to sound like a broken record; but what’s most important now is tightening up the shows and tweaking them. Also, though, constantly playing with them and finding new things to do will keep up from getting bored. We want to have fun with these, and now that we’ve become familiar we can loosen up and try a few things out.
Remember: Your homework for the first two performances of this week is to think of one thing you can do different per play. Make it something fun for you to look forward, too. (Keep in mind, though, that this shouldn’t be anything too drastic because it wouldn’t be fair to your fellow actors to catch them off guard with something we haven’t practiced.) With that said, it doesn’t have to be a big thing – it can be very simple or small. A perfect example is Romeo: if you have an idea for your posture or stance for Romeo, try it out at the chapel. Or, it could be something as small as changing the way you say a certain line.
Have a good weekend,
Alexz & Bryant
Tuesday 7/28- We have a performance of Romeo and Juliet at the All Soul’s Chapel at the Poland Spring Inn at 2pm. We’re asking you all to be there for 12pm sharp in order to walk through the show and fix any blocking that might need to be tweaked. You can plan on being done by 3:30pm at the latest.
Wednesday 7/29- We have a performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Ricker Memorial Library at 6pm. We’re asking for everyone to show up at PRHS at 3pm for a practice since you haven’t reviewed the show recently. We’ll carpool over around 5pm, and you can plan on being done by 7:30pm. The rumor is that the cast wants to go to Ruby Rose after for ice cream.
Thursday 7/30- Practice is up for discussion after one of the shows. If we were to have practice, it would be at the normal time (4-7pm)
Sunday 8/2- You have a performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at 2pm. Your call depends on whether or not we have a Thursday rehearsal. (Would anyone like to have a cast party afterwards? BBQ and swimming at the lake? Think about it.)
